Connerville, Oklahoma is a small town located in Johnston County. As of the 2010 census, the population was 83 people. It is situated near the south-central Oklahoma, about 25 miles east of the city of Ardmore.
The town was initially settled in 1889 near a natural spring by the Chickasaw Nation. Later, after Oklahoma’s statehood, it became a stop on the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, which helped in developing the town. A post office was established in 1901 and remains in operation to this day.
Today, Connerville is home to a few small businesses and religious organizations like the Church of Christ and the Friendship Baptist Church. There are also several historical sites, such as the oldest cemetery in the county and a restored one-room schoolhouse. The town is also close to the Tishomingo Wildlife Refuge, which provides opportunities for outdoor recreation like camping, fishing, and hunting. The town has a rural and laid-back atmosphere that attracts people looking for a slower pace of life.
